Yard Jockey

Overview

Summary: The Yard Jockey supports the movement of trailers to support the needs of the warehouse in sorting and processing material for shipment or storage. Yard Jockey is responsible for timely movements and thorough knowledge of on-hand inventory and positioning.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:• Operate yard trucks• Perform daily safety check of equipment• Secure materials on truck• Set up trailers as directed• Move trailers as directed• Obey safety rules• Housekeeping: general cleanup of work area• Participate in safety & quality meetings• Operate forklift and remote-control crane

Qualifications

Education and Experience:• High School Diploma or equivalent• Must have the ability to drive a tractor trailer with 2 years of experience• CDL license- Class A required
