Auto Parts & Recycling Operations Manager

Position Overview

We are seeking a hands‐on Operations Manager with strong leadership skills and working knowledge of auto parts, recycling, inventory control, and customer sales. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‐moving environment, understands the flow of a salvage/recycling yard, and can balance operational efficiency with revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee daily yard operations, workflow, safety, and productivity 

- Manage inventory of auto parts, scrap materials, and incoming vehicles 

- Ensure accurate tagging, cataloging, and tracking of parts 

- Lead and supervise yard staff, dismantlers, drivers, and front‐office personnel 

- Maintain compliance with environmental, safety, and recycling regulations 

- Support sales activities: customer inquiries, pricing, quotes, and order fulfillment 

- Improve processes to reduce waste, increase efficiency, and boost profitability 

- Coordinate logistics for incoming vehicles, outgoing parts, and scrap shipments 

- Build strong relationships with customers, vendors, and recycling partners 

- Monitor KPIs: inventory accuracy, turnaround time, sales performance, and yard output 

Qualifications

- 3+ years of experience in auto parts, salvage, recycling, or related operations 

- Strong leadership and team‐management skills 

- Working knowledge of inventory systems (basic or advanced) 

- Ability to handle customer interactions and support sales when needed 

- Comfortable in a physical, outdoor work environment 

- Strong problem‐solving and decision‐making abilities 

- Reliable, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities 

Preferred Skills

- Experience with dismantling operations or salvage yard workflow 

- Familiarity with parts cataloging systems (Hollander, Eden, Checkmate, etc.) 

- Basic mechanical or automotive knowledge 

- Experience negotiating with scrap buyers or parts customers
