Duties/Responsibilities:
• Maintain a well-organized yard and material storage areas to support efficient production of heavy truck components.
• Perform advanced forklift operations, including handling large, irregular, and high weight loads such as frames, plate, tubing, and fabricated parts.
• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming raw materials and parts against purchase orders and delivery documentation.
• Accurately identify and sort materials such as structural steel, aluminum, stainless steel, and other metals used in truck manufacturing.
• Stage materials for production lines to ensure uninterrupted workflow for fabrication and assembly teams.
• Load and unload trucks, ensuring materials are secure and protected from damage.
• Complete in-town vendor pickups and deliveries of materials, parts, and supplies.
• Maintain accurate records of material movement, inventory transactions, and receiving logs.
• Assist with cycle counts, inventory audits, and material replenishment activities.
• Follow all safety procedures, including proper rigging, load balancing, and equipment operation standards
• Communicate effectively with purchasing, production, and warehouse teams to ensure material availability.
Required Skills/Abilities:
• Proven forklift experience, including moving oversized or heavy industrial loads.
• Experience in manufacturing, preferably in heavy equipment or truck productio.n
• Working knowledge of metals and materials used in fabrication (steel, aluminum, stainless, etc.)
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to safely perform physical labor, including lifting, bending, and moving heavy materials regularly.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately track materials.
• Basic math and documentation skills.
Preferred Skills/Abilities:
• Forklift certification (or ability to obtain).
• Experience supporting fabrication, welding, or assembly operations.
• Familiarity with bills of materials (BOMs), shop orders, or inventory systems (ERP/MRP).
• Experience handling truck frames, components, or similar large assemblies.
Education and Experience:
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in manufacturing, heavy equipment, truck production, warehouse operations, or material handling preferred.
• Proven forklift experience required.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to safely perform physical labor, including lifting, bending, and moving heavy materials regularly.
• Frequent standing, walking, and movement throughout the shift.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and company vehicles.
