Job Description: The Yard Service Associate plays a critical role in delivering excellent customer service while ensuring accurate transactions and proper load measurement. This role combines front counter responsibilities with active yard duties, requiring both customer interaction and hand-on operational work.
Schedule: Part-time opportunities available
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service
- Provide friendly, efficient, and professional service to all customers
- Guide customers through the dumping/ check-in process
- Encourage satisfied customers to leave Google Reviews
- Resolve basic customer questions and escalate issues when necessary
Load Measurement & Yard Duties
- Measure incoming trailers/trucks to determine cubic yardage
- Ensure accurate material assessment for proper charging
- Move between yard and front counter as needed
- Maintain awareness of yard activity and customer flow
Transactions & Accuracy
- Accurately process customer transactions (cash, card, etc.)
- Ensure all charges reflect correct measurements and pricing
- Maintain attention to detail to precent revenue loss
Cash Handling & Reconciliation
- Perform end-of-day cash drawer reconciliation
- Balance transactions and report discrepancies
- Follow company procedures for cash handling and accountability
Qualifications we consider:
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Comfortable working in both indoor (office) and outdoor (yard) environments
- Ability to move frequently between office and yard
- Ability to perform basic math calculations (measurement, volume, pricing)
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
- Previous cashier, retail, or yard experience is preferred
- Comfortable standing, walking, and being active throughout the shift
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions
