Yard Support/Janitorial

Pay:

$37,440 - $45,760 a year

Job Description:

We currently have an opening for a Yard Support/Janitorial position. This position is responsible maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organized facility, both indoors and outdoors. In addition to custodial duties, this position supports drivers, shop, and office staff by handling equipment, gear, tarps, loads, and yard operations. The role helps ensure smooth daily functioning and operational excellence at the terminal.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

General Custodial Duties

• Clean and maintain designated areas (driver lounge, restrooms, offices, conference rooms, public spaces) daily.
• Perform dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, window washing, and trash removal.
• Clean out lunchroom refrigerators and wipe down all tables and countertops every Friday and as needed.
• Stock and manage supply closet and restrooms as needed.

Facility Maintenance & Safety

• Report maintenance issues promptly; assist with creating maintenance schedules for office equipment, fixtures, and HVAC systems.
• Inspect public areas daily for safety hazards and notify the shop manager of any concerns.

Yard and Equipment Support

• Oversee overall yard cleanliness and organization.
• Identify and report missing, damaged, or misused equipment and gear immediately to ensure accountability, replacement or repairs.
• Distribute and maintain records of equipment issued to truck drivers, monitor usage and equipment condition.
• Collaborate with parts manager on gear inventory cycle counts and gear orders.
• Keep the gear storage area clean and organized.
• Remove debris and clutter from the yard regularly to uphold a hazard-free environment.

Driver Support

• Operate forklifts and other powered industrial trucks safely for load shifts and unloading (Forklift Certification required).
• Aid in transporting and prepping tarps for repair.
• Stock prep trucks with gear required per fleet / division.

Additional Duties

• Perform other duties as assigned to support terminal and maintenance operations.
