Penmac Staffing is hiring a Yard Worker/Forklift Operator for a local lumber and building materials company in Springfield, MO. This is a full-time, temp-to-hire opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors, staying active, and being part of a hardworking team. While forklift operation is an important part of the role, employees will also assist with general yard duties, material handling, and maintaining an organized work environment.Requirements
- Previous forklift experience is highly preferred
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions throughout the day
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Strong attention to safety and workplace procedures
- Dependable with a solid work ethic and positive attitude
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to learn equipment and procedures specific to the facility
- Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting, carrying, bending, standing, and walking throughout the shift
Responsibilities
- Unload railcars and assist with moving materials throughout the lumber yard
- Operate forklifts to transport and organize lumber and building materials
- Pick up, stack, and stage boards and other products as needed
- Band and secure materials for storage or shipment
- Help maintain an organized, efficient, and safe yard environment
- Assist team members with general yard operations and material handling
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support daily operations
Schedule and Pay
- Full-time
- 1st Shift
- Monday - Friday
- $18.50 per hour
