Yard Worker

The Yard Worker is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and safe yard while providing exceptional customer service. This role assists customers with loading landscaping materials, receives and organizes inventory, operates forklifts and other equipment, and ensures the yard is stocked and ready for daily operations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner.
• Load and unload landscaping materials such as mulch, soil, gravel, sand, decorative rock, pavers, block, and other products.
• Safely operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment.
• Assist customers in locating products and loading purchases into their vehicles or trailers.
• Receive incoming shipments and verify quantities against packing slips.
• Organize, stock, and rotate inventory throughout the yard.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns.
• Follow all company safety policies and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Assist with inventory counts and yard organization projects.
• Keep loading areas clear and accessible.
• Support other departments as needed.
• Perform additional duties assigned by management.

Physical Requirements

• Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift heavier materials with assistance or equipment.
• Stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and climb throughout the workday.
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and dust.
• Safely operate forklifts and other equipment.
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment.

Work Schedule

• Monday through Friday
• Occasional Saturdays/Sundays and overtime may be required based on business needs.
