Job Description
Nucor is seeking a Yard Operator in Pinellas Park, FL. As a Yard Operator/Worker teammate, you will support daily yard operations by handling scrap metal materials, assisting customers, and operating equipment in a fast-paced outdoor environment. Candidates must have at least 1 year of general labor experience, the physical ability to perform continuous 12-hour shifts outdoors, and the ability to pass pre-employment drug screenings.
Compensation & Benefits
Average annual earnings of $55,000, including hourly base pay, weekly overtime, production bonuses, and profit sharing

Job Responsibilities
Job Duties
Adhere strictly to OSHA and company safety standards, actively participating in yard safety programs
Execute physical labor including sweeping, shoveling, yard cleanup, and sorting/moving scrap material
Inspect incoming scrap vehicles, advise customers on acceptable materials, issue deduction notices, and provide professional customer service
Operate yard forklifts and industrial equipment while remaining open to cross-training across operational role

Qualifications
Job Requirements
Minimum 1 year of general labor experience in manufacturing, warehouse, construction, or recycling environments (forklift and scrap metal experience preferred)
Capability to stand, walk, and perform physical work for up to 12 hours per shift in extreme heat and outdoor weather
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs, push/pull/carry up to 25 lbs, and work safely with minimal supervision
Flexibility to work required overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays, along with dependable attendance
Passing of pre-employment background check and drug screening (urine and hair follicle)
