EMR USA is currently hiring a General Laborer to support the day-to-day operations of our yard. In this role, you will assist with general labor tasks, yard maintenance, housekeeping, and equipment support. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, and able to work independently while contributing to a team environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist with general housekeeping and maintaining a clean, organized workplace
  • Clean and prepare work sites by removing debris and potential hazards
  • Assist with maintenance and cleaning of equipment
  • Clean barges and other yard equipment
  • Follow all operating procedures and health & safety protocols
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Required Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to use a variety of hand tools including snip cutters, brooms, shovels, and related equipment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Must have reliable transportation - no exceptions.
  • Ability to work overhead, climb ladders, kneel, bend, and stand for extended periods

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Previous forklift experience preferred

Work Environment & Physical Demands

This position is primarily performed in an outdoor environment. Employees may work near moving mechanical equipment and be exposed to varying weather conditions. Noise levels may be high, requiring hearing protection.

Physical requirements include:

  • Standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, and climbing
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs. regularly
  • Working in confined spaces as needed
