Experience and Education Required:
- High School diploma or higher; CDA or some college preferred
- Minimum of 2 years experience or 2500 hours working with children
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Facilitate engaging activities that support skill development in young children
- Current PA Child Abuse History Clearance, Criminal Background Check, FBI Fingerprint Clearance (DHS), and National Sex Offender Registry Clearance
- Out-of-state clearances for any individual residing out of Pennsylvania in the last 5 years
- Willingness to obtain a health assessment and complete required trainings
- Must complete Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED within first 30 days
- Ability to work effectively with children, families, and team members
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Reliable, patient, and flexible with a strong commitment to promoting the well-being of children
The after care assistant will be responsible for working with assigned preschool to 8th grade students.
- Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of children in the program
- Participate in the planning and implementation of after-school activities, including arts and crafts, games, sports, and homework help.
- Maintain a positive and supportive environment where students feel safe, valued, and respected.
- Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and other staff members.
- Ensure that children are appropriately engaged and behave in accordance with the program’s policies and rules.
- Maintain safety, cleanliness and organization of the activity areas.
- Communicate with parents/guardians when needed
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure a smooth and well-managed program.
- Follow regulations set forth by the Office of Child Development and Early Learning
