Position Summary:
The Site Director supervises and manages the daily activities at the afterschool site with warmth, dignity, and respect ensuring the safety of the program. Additionally, this role is responsible for planning and implementing daily program and activities to create a learning environment for the program.

Essential Functions / Job Duties:
• Plans, writes, and implements daily program and activities to create a learning environment for the program participants.
• Establishes and maintains professional and cordial communication and relationships with parents and school staff as well as the administrator(s) of the program location.
• Displays and models the YMCA’s core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
• Maintains accurate attendance, financial, grant outcome assessments and sign-inI sign-out records, follows up on absent children.
• Ensures that safety rules and practices are followed at all times; Failure to adhere to safety practices or engaging in unsafe behavior will result in termination of employment.
• Monitors equipment and facilities for safety and security purposes and reports concerns in a timely manner.
• Conduct and maintain any necessary measurable tools to track children’s progress.
• Distribute nutritious lunch and snacks on a daily basis using universal health/sanitation practices.
• Follow all YMCA HEPA standards.
• Conduct a health check of each child daily noting fever, bumps, bruises, burns, or other questionable signs of abuse and document the incident with the Program Director.
• Uphold all YMCA policies and Risk Management / Safety procedures which require reporting all incident and accidents to Site Director immediately.
• Know and follow proper emergency procedures appropriate to the facility and in conformity with procedures adopted by the YMCA of South Florida and emergency service authorities to ensure the safety of children.
• Preserve the quality of supplies and materials. Report to Program Director when supplies are needed.
• Provide regular inspection of area used by the program to ensure both cleanliness and safety.
• Check bathrooms for supplies and basic cleanliness before allowing participants to enter.
• Attend all staff meetings and training opportunities as required.
• Communicates important program issues and information to Program Director with urgency.
• Ensures that overall program areas are kept, neat, and clean.
• Plans special events and activities for children.
• Provides feedback and training to assistant site supervisor (if applicable) and counselors.
• Increases program participation by 5% annually (August- June) or up to full capacity.
• Maintains an 85% excellent rating on parent and principal evaluations.
• Keeps current accounts receivable with no more than 3% uncollected.
• Additional duties as assigned by your supervisor.

Time Management
• 50% - Focused on executing grant and non-grant curriculum components, coaching staff, ensuring site safety, etc.
• 40% - Customer Service (parents, stakeholders, etc.)
• 10% - Administrative duties (scheduling, payroll, AR’s, etc.)

Position Expectations
Ensures the team meets/exceeds enrollment goals, and average daily attendance goals.

Qualifications, Skills and Abilities / Position Requirements:
• At least 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
• Associate or Bachelor's degree, and I or with comparable experience preferred.
• Bilingual, English and Spanish, or English and Creole, a plus.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Must enjoy communicating with children, school administration and parents
• Ability to work with children in an active environment.
• Ability to work independently, and as part of a team.
• Ability to multi task and meet deadlines in a fast pace environment.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
• Must demonstrate a strong desire to serve others and give back to our community.

• Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.
• Must complete 1st course within 90 days and remainder of the 45-hour childcare courses within the first year of employment.
• CPR/First Aid and AED certified within 90 days of employment.
It is the responsibility of the Site Director to complete and maintain all necessary certifications, within the proper timeframe, as set forth by either the licensing agency, State of Florida or the YMCA of South Florida.
