Young Adult Peer Mentor - DMH Flexible Support Services - Part Time

Exciting opportunity to join Riverside Community Care as a Peer Mentor! 

Peer Mentors provide specialized expertise based on sharing their own lived experience of mental health challenges with purpose and intent to inspire hope and motivation in a youth who is struggling with similar concerns. 

In this important role, the Peer Mentor provides strength-based, peer–to-peer education, coaching, modeling, guidance, and support to youth in a variety of settings, including home, school, community, group home, and other out-of-home settings. 

The Peer Mentor will:

• guide youth through their treatment process providing outreach, peer support and advocacy, all in accordance to the client’s individual service plan
• help clients gain access to recovery resources and communities
• work in coordination with the clinical team while using his or her recovery experience as a positive model for clients’ process

Schedule:

• 20 hours per week; flexible hours between 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. to meet the needs of the families

Pay Rate:

• High School Diploma:
  • $20.69/hour
  • $21.31/hour with Peer Certification
• Associate or Bachelor Degree
  • $22.28/hour
  • $23.34/hour with Peer Certification

• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office) required
• Valid driver’s license and regular access to a reliable vehicle required

• High School Degree/GED required; Bachelors preferred
• One year experience working with target population required and has successfully completed the Core Elements of Young Adult Peer Mentoring Training or is enrolled/waitlisted with DMH approval
