Position Details
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1-year of related office support experience; school office experience preferred but not required.
- Working knowledge of computers and software, especially Google Apps and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to handle confidential information.
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
- Experience or interest in working with individuals with disabilities and/or young adults a plus, not required.
- Responsibility of employee to obtain and maintain all training(s), certificate(s), approval(s), etc. and provide documentation to the business office before expiration date of said document(s).
- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds.
- Required to have a physical presence at the designated job site each scheduled work day.
- Must have regular and reliable job attendance, performance and the physical ability to do the job.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Provide office assistance to the Young Adult Transition Center (YATC), which includes interacting with parents/guardians, staff, students, and other professional in a professional manner in person, by phone or by email.
- Assist with maintaining a safe and secure environment in the YATC building, including monitoring the front door and greeting visitors.
- Daily support and communication with ordering and receiving student meal services.
- Maintain an up-to-date "Emergency Contact Forms" binder for the YATC caseload and staff and maintain "Go-Bag" supplies.
- Change voicemail greetings for the holidays, office closings, staff-meetings, and summer hours.
- Assist YATC staff with special events, student picture day, conferences, and professional development days.
- Assist with mailings/special projects for the YATC Team, Pathfinder Principal, or Executive Administration Assistant.
- Scan and upload documents into Kelvin/IEP system on time, ensuring signature pages are included.
- Maintain and share, as needed, the list of student caseloads to ancillary staff.
- Collaborate with local district personnel as needed.
- Utilize the ISD Transportation system to submit transportation requests for YATC outings and community-based activities.
- Utilize the ISD system to submit and follow up on Facilities Maintenance requests.
- Utilize the ISD room reservation systems to reserve conference rooms when needed, including paper and ink supplies for printer/copier.
- Provide light technical/technology support.
- Enter and maintain necessary information in the Pathfinder calendar.
- Coordinate and execute safety drills in collaboration with the Principal, Pathfinder Executive Administrative Assistant and the ISD Facilities Manager.
- Ensure office supplies are available, organized and ordered when needed.
- Receive student medications and complete required paperwork for processing and assist with administration if needed.
- Collaborate with supervisors and other office assistants to ensure coverage when absent.
- Participate in yearly CPI and biyearly CPR/AED and First Aid Training.
- Assist and back up ISD office assistants as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by St. Joseph County ISD Administration.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: A 191-day position/7-hours per day. Salary and conditions of employment are determined by the Board of Education.
