    Youth Behavioral Health Therapist (LGSW / LGPC)

    At Paving the Way MSI, you will do more than provide therapy you will help children and adolescents receive meaningful behavioral health support when they need it most.

    As a Youth Behavioral Health Therapist, you will support our Short-term Pediatric Access Network initiative within DC Mental Health Access in Pediatrics. This program provides four to six focused sessions to youth experiencing concerns such as grief, parental separation, adjustment difficulties, anxiety, and emotional dysregulation while they await ongoing community-based care.

    What You’ll Do
    As a Youth Behavioral Health Therapist, you will provide focused clinical services that promote stability, strengthen coping skills, and connect youth with ongoing care.

    You will:
    •  Maintain a rotating panel of approximately 10 children and adolescents receiving four to six short-term sessions. 
    •  Review referrals and conduct brief clinical, risk, and needs assessments. 
    •  Develop structured treatment plans focused on coping skills, emotional regulation, problem-solving, and behavioral activation. 
    •  Provide caregiver coaching and appropriate parent-management strategies. 
    •  Recognize and escalate concerns requiring crisis intervention, psychiatric evaluation, or a higher level of care. 
    •  Develop and update safety plans when clinically indicated. 
    •  Coordinate warm handoffs to therapists, pediatric providers, psychiatric providers, and community resources. 
    •  Provide approximately 20 hours per week of individual therapy, family therapy, assessments, and transitional support to other PTWMSI consumers. 
    •  Collaborate with caregivers, care coordinators, clinical providers, schools, and community partners. 
    •  Provide trauma-informed, culturally responsive, youth- and family-centered care. 
    Work Model
    •  Full-Time, 40 Hours Per Week 
    •  Four Days Onsite and One Work-From-Home Day 
    •  Board-Approved Clinical Supervision Provided 
    •  Combination of Short-Term Intervention and Ongoing Clinical Services 
    Required Qualifications
    •  Master’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related behavioral health field. 
    •  Active District of Columbia Licensed Graduate Social Worker or Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor license in good standing. 
    •  Experience providing behavioral health services to children, adolescents, and families.

    Compensation: $67,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
