Position Specific Details We are looking for qualified Youth Care Workers who are responsible for supporting the daily operations of the summer camp program ensuring a safe nurturing and engaging environment for children and youth ages 5-13. This role involves supervising campers assisting with activities promoting positive social and emotional development and maintaining program standards. The camps run from June 22 2026 through August 7 2026 Monday through Friday from 730 a.m. to 530 p.m. This position offers up to 29 hours per week. Salary 15.76hour

Summary Statement An incumbent in this class performs custody and supervision of youthsadolescents by carrying out an established program of College policies and procedures. Activities provide and maintain the safety and control of youthsadolescents. These programs may be implemented as a result of federal grants State special funds or upon initiative of the College.

Nature and Scope An incumbent in this class typically receives supervision from a technical supervisor and are responsible for the enforcementimplementation of rules and regulations affective the care and security of youthsadolescents Class incumbents supervise assigned youthsadolescents by maintaining structure discipline safety and providing support and guidance. Incumbents may supervise residents in maintaining living quarters day care centers andor recreational and educational activities. Incumbents interact with other staff to exchange pertinent information about assigned youthsadolescents. A significant aspect of the work involves establishing relationships and providing guidance to youthsadolescents.

Principal Accountabilities An incumbent may perform any combination of the below listed accountabilities

  1. Performs regular and random room door and grounds checks to ensure security and well-being of youthsadolescents.
  2. Oversees youthsadolescents plans coordinates and facilitates activities of youthsadolescents by establishing and maintaining interpersonal relationships.
  3. Provides guidance to youthsadolescents by establishing and maintain interpersonal relationships.
  4. Prepares and maintains records and reports to document pertinent information.
  5. Provides tutoring of andor structural learning activities for youthsadolescents as necessary by assisting them with homework andor special projects or activities.
  6. Interacts with staff andor parents.
  7. Performs other related duties as required.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities Knowledge of College and program policies procedures and regulations. Knowledge of child andor adolescent behavior and development. Knowledge of the supervision of youthsadolescents. Knowledge of individual and group counseling techniques applicable to youthsadolescents. Knowledge of the preparation and maintenance of records and reports. Good interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to perceive problems and identify needs of youthsadolescents and make recommendations orally and in writing. Ability to use sound judgment in crisis situation. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to develop rapport with studentsyouthsadolescents and staff.

Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED and general experience with childcare or other equivalent combination of education and experience.
