Position Overview:
The Youth Development Professional Floater (YDP-F) provides direct care and supervision to children in the Specialized Therapeutic Group Home Program while following daily programming, implementing behavior management strategies, maintaining communication, and completing required documentation. The YDP-F works a regular 3:00 p.m.-11:00 p.m. schedule, 40 hours per week, and serves as the primary coverage for staff absences, including scheduled and unexpected vacancies across shifts.
Open Shift: Thursday-Monday 3pm-11pm (Is required to be available to cover other shifts when needed)
Here's what the job involves:
Supervise and guide children while maintaining a safe, supportive environment.
Provide transportation, prepare meals, administer medications, and complete daily shift duties.
Implement behavior management strategies and support treatment goals.
Complete required documentation and maintain accurate program records.
Collaborate with coworkers and treatment team members to ensure continuity of care.
Respond effectively to crisis situations and follow approved intervention procedures.
Must be able to safely participate in physical restraints when required.
Qualifications:
Applicants should have at minimum a high school diploma or GED
At least one year experience working with children/adolescent
Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT) encouraged to apply
Child Development Associate or Certified Nursing Assistant preferred
A valid Florida's driver's license is required
Be 21 years or older
Successful completion of a background check through Clearinghouse (learn more)
Physical Demands:
Able to physically engage in restraints.
May involve lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light to moderate weight (10-25 pounds).
Repetitive sitting; standing; walking; reaching with hands and arms; climbing stairs; balancing; stooping; kneeling; talking; and listening.
Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation.
Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Must be able to drive.
