It focuses on building relationships, sparking curiosity, and creating meaningful summer experiences that help students thrive.The Youth Enrichment Specialist plays a critical role in fostering a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment where students feel supported, motivated, and connected.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSSupport and facilitate afternoon enrichment activities such as arts, games, STEM, recreation, and group projectsEncourage participation, creativity, teamwork, and positive peer interactionsAssist with transitions from academic instruction to enrichment activitiesDeliver programming in classroom, outdoor, and community-based settingsStudent Supervision & Field TripsAccompany and supervise students on off‑site field tripsEnsure student safety, engagement, and appropriate behavior at all timesMaintain awareness of student needs and respond appropriately in all environmentsEnvironment & Relationship BuildingBuild positive, respectful relationships with students that promote belonging and participationMaintain a safe, structured, and inclusive environmentReinforce positive behavior and support redirection when neededProgram Support & OperationsAssist with set‑up, clean‑up, and organization of materials, snacks, and activitiesFollow all program policies, safety procedures, and behavior expectationsCollaborate with site leaders and instructional staff to support daily operationsCommunication & Professional ExpectationsCommunicate effectively with staff regarding student needs and daily programmingParticipate in team meetings or check‑ins as neededEnsure all interactions reflect professionalism, respect, and student‑centered supportQualifications (Required)Must be at least 18 years of ageHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredExperience working with children or youth preferredStrong communication and interpersonal skillsReliable, punctual, and able to commit to the full program scheduleComfortable supervising students in classrooms, outdoor spaces, and community settingsReliable transportation and ability to travel locally if neededMust successfully pass criminal history and child protective services background checksMust obtain and maintain CPR and First Aid certification and complete all required Cornerstone Human Services trainingPreferred QualificationsCollege coursework or degree in education, social work, psychology, child development, recreation, or a related field.Experience in summer programs, after‑school programs, childcare, tutoring, or youth mentoringExperience supporting group activities and managing student behaviorInterest in education, youth development, or behavioral health fieldsThis position description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed.
