Are you energetic, eager to learn, and passionate about working with kids? We are looking for a Junior Gymnastics Coach to join our team! This is an entry-level support role designed for individuals who want to learn the fundamentals of gymnastics instruction while working alongside our experienced senior staff.
In this role, you will gain hands-on experience, learn proper coaching techniques, and help create a fun, safe, and positive environment for our athletes.
Key Responsibilities
- Instructional Support: Assist Head Coaches during classes by managing student lines, demonstrating basic skills, and providing extra encouragement and attention to students who need help staying on task.
- Safety Monitoring: Keep a watchful eye on "non-active" students (those waiting for their turn) to ensure everyone is following gym rules and maintaining a safe, orderly environment.
- Gym Upkeep: Help keep the energy moving! Assist with transitioning equipment between rotations and ensure both the gym floor and lobby stay clean, organized, and welcoming throughout your shift.
- Learning & Growth: Actively participate in team trainings to master spotting techniques, safety protocols, and our program's specific curriculum.
Qualifications & Skills
- No prior coaching experience required! We will train the right person.
- Background in gymnastics, cheer, dance, or tumbling is a big plus, but not mandatory.
- High energy, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude.
- Excellent communication skills and a natural ability to connect with children.
- Reliable, punctual, and a great team player.
What We Offer
- Hands-on Training: Learn from the best! We provide mentorship in spotting, class management, and child development.
- Flexible Hours: Perfect for students or anyone looking for part-time morning/afternoon work.
- A Fun Environment: Stay active while making a difference in kids' lives.
Pay begins at $15 per hour. For additional information, please reach out to Charro Coleman at charro.coleman@byron.k12.mn.us or Jennifer Dole at jennifer.dole@byron.k12.mn.us
