Youth Leader - PT - Afterschool

SummaryYouth Leader, under the supervision of a Recreation Specialist or Sr Youth Leader, will lead and supervise Afterschool participants, and other various recreational activities. This is a seasonal position. Must be available to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays and help in other divisions as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Ensures the safety and well-being of campers and program participantsSupervises children aged 5-13 in various indoor and outdoor settings, adapting to different weather conditionsImplements engaging lesson plans in recreation, adventure, education, and enrichmentServes meals and snacks to program participants as neededPerforms daily operational tasks, including cleaning, filing, sorting, answering phones, and copyingMaintains essential records and prepares necessary reports, such as participation, usage, accident, and work order reportsFollows City policies, procedures, and safety guidelinesPerforms other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Completion of two (2) years of high school.

Preferred Qualifications

One (1) year experience working in a related fieldBilingual in English and Spanish

Certificates and Licenses

Valid driver's licenseCPR and First aid or able to attain within 90 daysFood handler license or able to attain within 90 days
