Overview:
The Cobham Youth Director leads, supervises, and reports on all youth programming at the Warren Corps, including after-school programs, summer day camps, back-to-school initiatives, seasonal events, and additional youth activities.
Responsibilities:
- Providing direct supervision and training to program aides and volunteers in alignment with The Salvation Army's policies and procedures
- Planning and organizing activities in the gymnasium, game room, and other spaces
- Maintaining regular communication with parents and guardians
- Coordinating fundraising initiatives and volunteer recruitment to support year-round youth programs
- Managing administrative tasks, including data collection, budgeting, statistical reporting, and compliance with funder and state requirements
- Building collaborative relationships with community agencies and organizations by sharing program information and participating in local at-risk youth initiatives
Performing other duties as assigned within the scope of the role
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 1–3 years of relevant experience in youth programming, education, or related fields
- Successful completion and ongoing maintenance of Pennsylvania Act 153 clearances: PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check, and FBI Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check (renewed every 5 years). PA Mandated and Permissive Reporting and The Salvation Army's KeepSAfe training required.
- Demonstrates understanding of and commitment to benefiting young children of the community by providing adult mentoring to assist children in developing into mature and responsible adults.
