DescriptionThe Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County is accepting applications for Youth Program Specialist. The Youth Program Specialist is responsible for branch programming; youth program quality, branch operations, and facility and child safety and administrative compliance.Duties include but are not limited to providing age appropriate services and activities to meet the needs of enrolled members; creating an atmosphere of academic success, health, and fitness; being accountable for fidelity of curriculum, programming and activities; implementing YPQ techniques; being accountable for performance and achieving goals; maintaining accurate and timely documentation and reporting; ensuring facility and child safety.Employees may be exposed to germs and illnesses. Employees are required to follow all safety procedures and protocols. Work sites are located in low income areas, challenging neighborhoods, and growth neighborhoods. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and sometimes moderate or very loud. The position requires working with large groups of youth.At the branches, youth receive targeted services in a safe, supportive environment from staff who believe in the organization's mission. The Club experience focuses on three priority outcomes: Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, and Positive Citizenship.RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor Degree preferredMinimum of 1 year experience working with youthQualificationsAbility to work regular program hours with periodic evenings, nights, and weekendsAbility to be a positive role modelAbility to establish rapport and build relationshipsAbility to set expectations and boundariesAbility to relate to at‑risk youthAbility to facilitate, teach, or instructAbility to create programs and activities based on needEfficient with computers and Microsoft Office; knowledge of technology and software such as iPads, tablets, computers and internetMust be able to obtain CPR and First Aid certificationMust be able to pass agency background screens and drug screen at any timePosition requires driving personal vehicle. Candidates must have a satisfactory driving record and a valid driver's license.
