The YMCA of Orange County is a leading non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening communities through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. We are actively seeking highly engaged, intentional, and service-oriented individual for a part-time Volleyball Coach position.

This role is a profound opportunity to directly impact the lives of the communities we serve by fostering genuine connections, practicing exceptional hospitality, and creating a safe, positive, and enriching environment where every interaction is meaningful. The Volleyball Coach will foster a supportive and team-focused environment while leading programs that inspire active lifestyles and community well-being.

Work Schedule: Coach must be available to work the following shifts:

  • Tuesday 3:45pm - 9:15pm
  • Sunday 12:00pm - 9:00pm
Purpose and Impact:
  • Be a Mentor:
    • Guide youth in building confidence, teamwork, and sportsmanship while developing fundamental skills for success on and off the field.
  • Facilitate Participant Experience:
    • Lead participants through registration and check-in with professionalism, communicate schedules and program details clearly, and ensure every athlete feels prepared and supported.
  • Inspire Positive Engagement:
    • Encourage athletes to embrace sportsmanship and collaboration while fostering a positive, motivating environment that promotes learning and personal development.
  • Build Positive Connections:
    • Engage with youth and families to foster a friendly atmosphere, answer questions, and create a space that encourages open communication and lasting connections.
  • Job description will be provided during interview.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Minimum Age: Must be 16 with a valid work permit.
  • Experience & Skills:
    • Must have experience in sports. Volleyball experience highly preferred.
    • Must be able to work with children ages 3 to 15 years old.
    • Experience in customer service preferred.
    • Excellent communication, organization, and planning skills.
  • Certifications:
    • First Aid and CPR certifications required (training provided and paid for by the YMCA).
