Aurora Township Youth Worker Summary of Employment Position Last Revised March 23, 2026

Under the direction and supervision of the Aurora Township Director of Community Services, the Youth Worker is responsible for supervising and leading educational and extracurricular afterschool and summer activities for youth at the Youth & Community Center.

The Youth Worker will assist in developing and executing afterschool and summer programs, supervising and mentoring youth, and planning, scheduling, leading, and supervising sports and recreational programs. This position also transports youth, staff, and other Township clients as needed.

Candidates must: • Possess at least a high school diploma (preferably completed college coursework) and previous experience working with youth, teens, parents, and the public. • Be able to work a flexible schedule. • Have a valid, current drivers license. • Have the ability to pass an in-depth criminal background check and drug screen.

Minimum Hourly Rate of Pay: $15.00

Benefits Summary: Illinois Paid Leave, Retirement (Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund) if working 20+ hours per week
