The duties include but are not limited to:
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be a high school or trade school graduate from a regionally accredited school or have GED equivalent.
Must have five (5) years of experience in environmental services, or an equivalent combination of trade school training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform work.
Must have five (5) years of experience in field work.
Must have a working knowledge of chemical dispensing units, MSDS systems, and auto scrubbers.
Must have thorough knowledge of cleaning tools, equipment, and supplies.
Must have knowledge of school plant rooms, facilities, and other buildings.
Must have knowledge of practices, methods, materials, and tools used in the trade.
Must have knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions of the work.
Must have a working knowledge of cleaning chemicals, including material safety data sheets, product usage charts, chemical dispensing units, cleaning materials, compounds, and solvents.
Must have the ability to identify various cleaning materials and supplies needed to perform the duties issued.
Must have a good working knowledge of high solids floor finishes, refinishing procedures and planned maintenance programs, and universal precaution procedures.
Must have the ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions, oversee custodial crews, and adhere to cleaning schedules.
Must be able to operate and troubleshoot Kent battery operated floor equipment, or other like equipment, and be able to perform/instruct minor maintenance repairs.
MUST HAVE A VALID ALABAMA DRIVER'S LICENSE. MAY BE REQUIRED TO OBTAIN A COMMERCIAL DRIVER'S LICENSE. MUST BE INSURABLE THROUGH MCPSS VEHICLE INSURANCE PROVIDER.

Salary Range: From/To Beginning pay - $$47,181.00

Applicants selected for classified positions must undergo (or have undergone) an ABI/FBI criminal history background check (fingerprinting administered through sites selected and approved by the MCPSS and State of Alabama Education Department) and be declared suitable and fit to teach under state law. Applicants selected must also pass a drug-screening test via forms provided by Human Resources during the selection process.
