This role will take place at various City of Hillsboro Middle Schools. You will be meeting new people and building relationships with School District members, you will also help provide Sports instruction and leadership focused recreation level skills for youth (12-14 aged) at Middle School locations.
Current / Upcoming Projects:Participates in the instruction and organization of recreation programs; performs directly related work as required.
The principal function of an employee in this class is to participate in the instruction and organization of City recreational programs. The work is performed under the supervision and direction of an assigned supervisor, but some leeway is granted for the exercise of independent judgement and initiative. This class is distinguished from the class of Recreation Instructor I by lead worker duties. Lead worker responsibilities are exercised over employees in the classes of Recreation Instructor I and Recreation Program Aide. The nature of the work performed requires that an employee in this class establish and maintain effective working relationships with the assigned supervisor, other City employees, program participants, and the general public. The principal duties of this class are performed at recreation facilities. This is a non-exempt position.
