Zone Sales Representative

As a key member of our sales team, you’ll play a vital role in driving sales, building customer relationships, and growing the presence of Z.T. Distribution, Inc. products throughout your assigned territory. You’ll serve as the primary point of contact for customers and the general public, overseeing product sales, ordering, merchandising, and promotions at customer locations. Your ability to connect with customers, understand their needs, and effectively represent our products will be essential to your success—and to the continued growth of Z.T. Distribution, Inc.

Responsibilities

\n

·       Sets up and merchandise displays and stocks/rotates/maintains shelves at customer locations

\n

·       Writes orders for customers to ensure products are available, credits/returns are minimal and revenues are increased in the assigned territory

\n

·       Anticipates needs for and follows through on planned product promotions 

\n

·       Understands customer needs and patterns in an effort to minimize damage and ‘unsaleables’ for the purpose of avoiding revenue loss

\n

·       Assists in expediting products or orders to customers in urgent situations

\n

·       Develops and maintains good customer relations and communication to ensure customer satisfaction and continued sales opportunities. Checks in with store decision makers during every visit and introduces new/existing products to increase sales and enhance service

\n

·       Consistently solicits and develops new accounts within assigned territory

\n

·       Participates in scheduled team meetings at corporate office, virtual and/or via phone call

\n

·       Records instructions from customers and shares same with Regional Sales Manager and Retail Coverage Specialists

\n

·       Informs Regional Sales Manager of potential customer problems or complaints and works to effectively solve them

\n

·       When delivering product, will obtain proof of delivery in the form of a DSD and a proper (legible) signature from a store representative

\n

·       Demonstrates flexibility as service zones and/or routes are reassigned

\n

·       Partners with Z.T. retail management to seek out and interview merchandising candidates

\n

·       Works in cooperation with other Zone Sales Representatives, the Regional Sales Manager, Retail Coverage Specialists and merchandisers to ensure optimal customer service

\n

·       Other duties as assigned

\n

\n

Qualifications

\n

·       Two (2) years of experience in product sales with a proven track record of success

\n

·       Knowledge of industry-related and financial software including Microsoft products such as Excel

\n

·       Has a personal vehicle that is licensed, registered and insured to use for travel to customer locations

\n

·       Has a current driver’s license and a good driving record

\n

·       Has a personal cell phone and laptop to use for company business, emails, etc.

\n

·       Basic understanding of mathematics to verify delivery quantities, weights, and values

\n

·       Ability to read maps and follow instructions for routing and other paperwork

\n

·       Above average communications and human relations skills

\n

·       Ability to read and speak English
