Are you a seasoned Data Manager with a passion for uncovering insights from data? Do you seek diverse work opportunities where you can make an impact? We seek a Data Manager to bolster our data infrastructure for evaluation and research projects. You'll work with a team of analysts, statisticians, and evaluators on initiatives in tobacco control, chronic disease prevention, and behavioral health. You will utilize your expertise to enhance our data management practices and ETL processes while handling the substantial data we receive from clients and partners. At PDA, we are also committed to leveraging the power of AI to enhance our data-centric solutions. As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to help us explore using AI to improve our data management practices, automate processes, and provide deeper insights for our clients. This is a full-time position (32 to 40 hours per week) that includes benefits. We are accepting applications from out-of-state candidates who wish to work remotely, as well as Twin Cities-based candidates who will have the option to work in our Minneapolis office or work remotely.Specific responsibilities<ul><li>Collaborate with company leaders, software developers, and IT to streamline and automate data-related business processes</li><li>Design, configure, and maintain robust data platforms and data flows</li><li>Manage and optimize data intake, validation, visualization, automated reporting, organization, and communication processes</li><li>Develop and enforce quality controls and standards to ensure data integrity</li><li>Regularly process and evaluate the quality of incoming data</li><li>Create automated data cleaning, documentation, codebook creation, variable creation, and validation processes</li><li>Maintain documentation, including codebooks, methodologies, data anomalies, and coding decisions</li><li>Perform ad-hoc queries and reporting from SQL databases</li><li>Generate annotated results that are accessible and tailored to their audience</li><li>Incorporate data products from cloud services like Azure or AWS with support from IT and software developers</li><li>Present results directly to internal and external teams</li><li>Propose and implement ideas for process improvement</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>5+ years of data management experience </li><li>Experience developing and implementing data pipelines</li><li>Proficient in SQL </li><li>Understanding of fundamental database, data warehouse, and ETL concepts</li><li>Capable of understanding and writing clear and well-documented R, SAS, or Python code</li><li>Experience cleaning complex datasets</li><li>Experience developing informative data documentation and processes </li><li>Familiarity with data products from cloud service providers like Azure and AWS</li><li>Ability to work independently and as part of a team</li><li>Ability to view data from both a data manager’s and a data analyst’s perspective</li></ul>
