Job Summary Aptive is seeking a full-time Events Project Manager to support a high-visibility federal client. The Events Project Manager provides strategic, logistical, and operational leadership to ensure the successful planning and execution of conferences, trade shows, exhibits, and outreach events. This role oversees event planning, logistics coordination, stakeholder engagement, and team management to deliver high-quality events that effectively communicate the organization's mission and initiatives. The Events Project Manager role requires a proactive leader and problem solver with significant experience managing trade show style events and large-scale exhibits. This position requires an individual who can oversee complex event logistics, coordinate with vendors and stakeholders, manage event teams, and ensure all event components-from planning through execution and post-event reporting-are delivered efficiently and professionally. In this role, the Events Project Manager will lead the planning and coordination of events, manage vendor relationships and logistics operations, oversee shipping and inventory management for exhibit materials, and ensure alignment between event objectives and communications strategies. The individual will work closely with internal teams, leadership, vendors, and event partners to ensure seamless event execution and continuous improvement across events. This is a contingent hire position. This position is located in the Washington, DC metro area. Some onsite work or travel to the client site for meetings is expected. The expected compensation at the time of requisition creation, is between $100,000 and $110,000.00. The position offers with medical, dental and vision coverage. Additional benefits such as 401K, disability insurance and PTO are provided as well Primary Responsibilities <ul><li>Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of conferences, trade shows, exhibits, and outreach events. </li><li>Gather event requirements from stakeholders and translate them into actionable event plans and logistics strategies. </li><li>Manage relationships with trade exposition companies, vendors, and service providers to coordinate logistics, materials, and services for events. </li><li>Oversee shipping and receiving logistics for event materials, including direct-to-site shipping, advance warehouse shipments, overnight shipments, and event-to-event shipping. </li><li>Coordinate exhibit materials, displays, signage, promotional items, and booth assets to ensure readiness for events. </li><li>Maintain and manage event-related digital assets using asset management systems. </li><li>Utilize project management and planning software to coordinate schedules, resources, and event deliverables. </li><li>Collaborate with internal stakeholders and creative teams to implement event concepts and respond to creative direction. </li><li>Lead and coordinate event teams and contractors to ensure successful event preparation and on-site execution. </li><li>Monitor event logistics and resolve operational issues during planning and execution phases. </li><li>Develop and maintain event planning documentation including timelines, run-of-show documents, inventory forecasts, and event checklists. </li><li>Track event materials inventory and oversee procurement of materials and services. </li><li>Prepare and deliver detailed after-action reports following each event to document results, lessons learned, and recommendations for improvement. </li><li>Ensure events align with current best practices for exhibits, demonstrations, and engagement spaces. </li></ul>Minimum Qualifications<ul><li>Bachelor's degree or equivalent from a four-year college. </li><li>Minimum 7 years of professional experience managing trade show style events and exhibits. </li><li>Portfolio of samples required, samples must include 3-5 pictures of expo-style booths they have managed, sample inventory forecasting report (e.g., PDF, dashboard, system-generated report), and a sample event checklist. </li><li>Demonstrated expert level experience with project management and planning software. </li><li>Demonstrated expert level experience managing shipping and receiving logistics, including direct-to-site shipping, advance warehouse shipments, overnight shipments, and event-to-event shipping. </li><li>Demonstrated expert level experience working with major trade exposition companies, including managing relationships, purchasing materials and services, coordinating logistics, and supporting related event activities. </li><li>Demonstrated expert level experience managing large teams and coordinating event staff and contractors. </li><li>Expert level experience using Microsoft Office Suite products. </li><li>Expert level experience using Adobe Creative Cloud suite of products. </li><li>Demonstrated experience working with asset management systems to manage event materials and digital assets. </li><li>Ability to gather requirements from stakeholders and work collaboratively within a team as well as independently on assigned projects. </li><li>Ability to take creative direction from stakeholders and incorporate feedback into event planning and execution. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to manage shipping and receiving logistics across multiple event environments. </li><li>Ability to develop detailed after-action reports and post-event documentation. </li><li>Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and Key Responsibilities:Safety Architecture & System Design<ul><li>Own the end-to-end robotics safety architecture for AMR and drone platforms, spanning sensors, perception, localization, planning, control, actuation, human-machine interaction, and connectivity. </li><li>Define and maintain the system-level safety concept, including functional safety architecture, safety goals, safe operating states, degraded modes, and fault response strategies. </li><li>Architect safety mechanisms and patterns, including: <ul><li>Safety monitors and supervisors </li><li>Redundant and diverse sensing and practical experience. </li><li>8+ years in robotics or embedded software, with 3-5+ years owning system or safety architecture. </li><li>Handson experience deploying software on real robots (AMRs, AGVs, drones, industrial robots). </li><li>Strong experience with ROS2, including architecturelevel use of nodes, DDS, executors, lifecycle management, and realtime considerations. </li><li>Proven experience designing systems that include: <ul><li>Multisensor perception and fusion (vision, lidar, radar) </li><li>Mapping and localization (SLAM, VIO, VO, fusion) </li><li>Motion planning, POSITION SUMMARYThis position is responsible for the construction and troubleshooting progressive die tooling and fixtures for welding, soldering and assembly working from specified design prints and verbal instructions utilizing all standard tool room equipment.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS<ul><li>Study blueprints, sketches, models, or specifications to plan sequences of operations for fabricating tools, dies, or assemblies.</li><li>Work from specified design prints and verbal instructions to manufacture die components tooling and fixtures for welding, soldering and assembly.</li><li>Collaborate with Tool Designer to help develop and design new tools and dies.</li><li>Setup and operate conventional or computer numerically controlled machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, drill presses and grinders to cut, bore, grind, or otherwise shape parts to prescribed dimensions and finishes.</li><li>Visualize and compute dimensions, sizes, shapes, and tolerances of assemblies based on specifications.</li><li>Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts for conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers and dial indicators.</li><li>Inspect finished dies for smoothness, contour conformity and defects.</li><li>Fit and assemble parts to make, repair, or modify dies, jigs, gauges, and tools using machine tools and hand tools.</li><li>Use layout and assembly drawings to determine fit and function of components and fully assemble dies and fixtures.</li><li>Conduct test runs with completed tools or dies to ensure that parts meet specifications making adjustments as necessary.</li><li>Select metals to be used from a range of metals and alloys, based on properties such as harness and heat tolerance.</li><li>Grind and adjust various parts to properly fit them together.</li><li>Lift, position, and secure machined parts on surface plates or worktables using hoists, vises, v-blocks, or angle plates.</li><li>Smooth and polish flat and contoured surfaces of parts or tools using scrapers, abrasive stones, files, and emery cloths.</li><li>Measure, mark, and scribe metal or plastic stock to layout machining using instruments such as protractors, micrometers, scribes, and rulers.</li><li>Setup heat-treating furnaces and feed or place parts, tools, or assemblies into furnaces to harden.</li><li>Adhere to all safety policies and procedures and keep work area clean in accordance with specified rules and regulations.</li><li>Adhere to EMS and IATF 16949 Policies and Procedures.</li><li>Perform all other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.</li></ul>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES<ul><li>Ability to work effectively with internal/external personnel.</li><li>Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.</li><li>Ability to read and comprehend instructions, blueprints, design specifications, correspondence, work orders and production schedules.</li><li>Knowledge and good understanding of metals to be used from a range of metals and alloys based on properties such as harness and heat tolerance.</li><li>Knowledge of proper shimming techniques to fit parts when required.</li><li>Knowledge of proper use of tool fabricating accessories such as vises, v-blocks, angle plates, and edge/center finders.</li><li>Ability to operate hoists.</li><li>Knowledge of machines and tools, including designs, uses, repair and maintenance.</li></ul>QUALIFICATIONS<ul><li>High School Diploma or GED equivalent; or graduation from a technical/trade school.</li><li>Minimum of five (5) years' experience as a Tool Maker working in a metal stamping environment.</li><li>Must be able to read, write, and speak English proficiently.</li><li>Must be proficient with computers.</li><li>Must have good basic math skills and the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.</li></ul>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS<ul><li>Proficient with Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) milling machines.</li></ul>PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
