You'll also stay connected with colleagues across the system to share information, coordinate support, and keep things running smoothly.Key ResponsibilitiesOperations<ul><li>Support daily library operations by allocating resources, planning and prioritizing work, and making decisions that ensure the library functions smoothly.</li><li>Troubleshoot building and equipment issues and communicate with other library departments as needed.</li><li>Create monthly staff schedules to ensure appropriate coverage and adjust as needed due to callouts or changing conditions.</li><li>Provide a minimum of four hours per week assisting patrons at a service point.</li><li>Support collection maintenance and materials handling as needed.</li></ul>Supervision and Leadership<ul><li>Recruit, interview, hire, and train staff to support successful onboarding and job performance.</li><li>Oversee scheduling, timekeeping, and daily supervision of employees.</li><li>Monitor employee performance, provide timely feedback, support professional development, and deliver evaluations.</li><li>Handle discipline and terminations in accordance with practice.</li><li>Work alongside staff and provide guidance as needed.</li><li>Promote open communication, collaboration, and team building.</li><li>Work regular evening and weekend shifts and serve on call in crisis situations.</li><li>In collaboration with Library Managers and Librarians, assist with branch-level planning.</li></ul>Customer and Community Relations<ul><li>Promote positive working relationships with staff and patrons.</li><li>De-escalate and resolve concerns from patrons and employees by researching issues, identifying solutions, and making decisions.</li><li>Build and maintain relationships with community members, which may include outreach to community groups.</li></ul>What You Will BringPeople-first supervision: You are an experienced leader and have supported teams that work directly with the public.
