ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING: Operates graders, rollers, crawler tractors, front-end loaders, backhoes, street sweepers and similar equipment in working on a variety of construction and maintenance projects; Cuts to grade, moves earth, spreads material, digs ditches, loads trucks, prepares subgrades, resurfaces streets, makes cuts and fills, does finishing grading; Operates street sweeper to remove dirt and debris from the streets and gutters, Inspect vehicles and equipment; Maintains sweepers in good repair; Adjusts and makes minor repairs to equipment; installs sweeper brooms; Installs street signs; Fill in pot holes; Clean storm drains; Repair barricades; May supervise several assistants; Performs other duties as assigned. Under general supervision, to operate varied equipment in the construction and maintenance of streets, sidewalks, curb, gutter, sewers, storm drains, utilities and other public works; DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS.
