This position guides students in classroom learning that will motivate them to reach their academic and spiritual potential and help accomplish our school mission. The passion of the Teacher and their efforts assist in fostering Christian spiritual growth in the students and will directly impact Calvary Christian Academy Boynton Beach to achieve its religious mission to "make disciples" for Christ. Scope: This position guides students in classroom activities that will motivate them to reach their learning potential. The teacher will use various methods to interact with students, other faculty, parents, and staff at Calvary Christian Academy Boynton Beach and Calvary Chapel Boynton Beach. Specific Responsibilities:<ul><li>Model Christ in word and deed.</li><li>Write biblically integrated lesson plans for all classes on a weekly basis according to Calvary Christian Academy BB guidelines that further our Christian mission of making disciples and will help students grow academically and in their knowledge of the gospel of Jesus Christ.</li><li>Establish and maintain communication with parents as specified by administrative policy.</li><li>Read Calvary Christian Academy email/staff communications to remain informed and respond if requested to do so. This should be done upon arrival, midday, and before departure.</li><li>Attend staff devotions one day per week.</li><li>Attend Calvary Christian Academy staff meetings.</li><li>Attend Calvary Chapel Fort BB staff meetings.</li><li>Participate in scheduled grade-level team meetings.</li><li>Attend/participate in: Back to School Night, and other School events that promote relationship-building with students, parents, and colleagues. </li><li>Participates in the accreditation process for the school's continuous improvement plan.</li><li>Participates in professional development to stay current in their field.</li><li>Adhere to specified professional dress.</li><li>Attend and participate in designated Chapels.</li><li>Open each class with prayer.</li><li>Complete weekly lesson plan.</li><li>Give specific praise and encouragement.</li><li>Decorate classroom bulletin boards seasonally, scripturally, and quarterly.</li><li>Establish and maintain accurate records on each student.</li><li>Prepare interims.</li><li>Prepare record keeping on Brightwell.</li><li>Integrate school-wide theme scriptures into the classroom to help further the mission of CCA.</li><li>Teach through the Biblical Integration method.</li><li>Discipline with love and establish incentives for improving behavior.</li><li>Provide remediation or enrichment for students as necessary.</li><li>Observe and assess the ability of each student.</li><li>Know the student dress code to ensure students comply with the standards</li><li>Compile and maintain an up-to-date subfolder</li><li>Secure classrooms for use by Children's Ministry and other ministries.</li><li>All teachers are responsible for erasing their whiteboards at the end of each teaching day (good stewardship element)</li><li>Must be able to lift 40 lbs. </li></ul>Qualifications/Skills/Gifts: <ul><li>Strong personal commitment to Jesus Christ </li><li>Commitment to the philosophy and Statement of Faith of Calvary Chapel</li><li>Willing to live a life above reproach that is aligned with our Leadership Covenant</li><li>A love of teaching, especially the Word.</li><li>The call of God to serve as a teacher. </li><li>A strong commitment to the philosophies and mission of Calvary Chapel as well as the educational philosophies of Calvary Christian Academy.</li><li>Written and Oral fluency in English (able to pass a proficiency test).</li><li>Excellent interpersonal skills with regard to children, their parents, and colleagues.</li><li>Bachelor's degree, preferred. </li><li>Child Development Associate (CDA)</li><li>DCF 45-hour Child Care training.</li><li> Spiritual gifts of teaching, discernment, administration, leadership, service, and exhortation. </li><li>Group facilitation skills.</li><li>Continuing professional development. </li><li>Computer skills. </li><li>Organizational skills.</li><li>Flexibility.</li></ul>Education Requirements:<ul><li>High school or equivalent (Required)</li><li>Early Childhood Pre-K Teacher - Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education (preferred), plus the candidate</li><li>Agrees to register within ninety days of employment to obtain the necessary 45-hour child care classes mandated by the county and state licensing agencies.</li><li>VPK certification preferred</li><li>Agrees to complete physical examination before entering classroom</li><li>Agrees to complete 10 hours of in-service in early childhood as per BCCLE </li><li>Agrees to complete mandatory background screening through Florida</li><li>Clearinghouse before entering classroom</li><li>Continuing professional development</li></ul>Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Full-time (40 hours/week); however, may be required to work an evening or weekend day to attend CCA BB events or assist with a special project or in a circumstantial emergency affecting the church facilities.
