Our network serves over 1,400 students annually across our six campuses in the District, with a staff of over 250 dedicated individuals.As an Elementary Math/Science Teacher, you will ignite curiosity, foster critical thinking, and help students develop problem-solving skills through hands-on learning experiences. Integrating STEM principles and differentiated instruction will cultivate a supportive and inclusive environment where students thrive academically and personally.Responsibilities: Instructional Planning & Delivery: <ul><li>Plan and deliver daily effective differentiated instruction</li><li>Demonstrate knowledge of resources, student needs, curriculum (Eureka Math & PhD Science), content, and pedagogy</li><li>Set instructional outcomes</li><li>Design student assessments</li></ul>Classroom Management & Environment <ul><li>Create an environment of respect and rapport. </li><li>Establish a culture of learning.</li><li>Manage classroom procedures and student behavior. </li><li>Communicate directions, expectations, procedures, and content with students. </li><li>Engage students in learning with quality questioning and discussion techniques.</li></ul>Professional Growth & Development <ul><li>Participate in the Center City PCS learning community via PLCs, campus/district professional development, and weekly campus-based grade-level planning sessions.</li><li>Reflect on instructional practices by incorporating feedback and adjusting teaching strategies accordingly.</li></ul>Collaboration and Communication: <ul><li>Demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness</li><li>Attend occasional school events outside of regular hours. </li><li>Engage families by building positive relationships to support the studestudent'semic and personal goals. </li><li>Compliance and Professional Expectations: </li><li>Maintain accurate and up-to-date records</li><li>Following school-wide procedures for attire, behavior, and punctuality (teacher hours are 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM)</li><li>Attend and participate in occasional school events outside of regular school hours</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Bachelor's degree in an applicable subject area, as appropriate</li><li>Passing Praxis scores</li><li>Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience (preferred) </li><li>Strong ability to use data-driven instruction with demonstrated evidence of student growth.</li></ul><ul><li>Familiarity with Common Core Shifts in Mathematics and Eureka Math Curriculum (preferred)</li><li>Demonstrates ability to use data to assess student learning, with evidence of growth</li><li>References that reflect a high standing with a past employer</li><li>Able to lift to 10 pounds and able to stand for long hours</li><li>Must be able to show proof of complete vaccination against COVID-19 </li></ul>BenefitsCenter City PCS offers the following benefits to all full-time employees.<ul><li>The employer subsidizes medical, Dental, and Vision insurance premiums</li><li>401 (k) Retirement Plan with employer match</li><li>Pre-tax Flexible Spending Accounts</li><li>Life and Disability Insurance</li><li>Paid sick and personal time off</li></ul>This description is intended to describe the work a person assigned to this position performs.
