What You’ll DoThe Project Accountant (PFA) supports accurate financial execution across assigned projects. Responsibilities include project setup, billing, revenue recognition, cash receipts, accounts receivable follow-up, contract review, subconsultant documentation tracking, and collaboration within the project accounting team. The role partners with Project Managers, subconsultants, and finance leadership to support accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with internal controls. This role reports directly to the Project Accountant Manager.  Key ResponsibilitiesProject Lifecycle<ul><li>Setting up projects in alignment with documented contract terms</li><li>Billing terms and rate tables</li><li>Revenue recognition methods</li><li>Accurate work breakdown structure (tasks, subtasks)</li><li>Ongoing project maintenance throughout the project lifecycle. </li><li>Preparing and issuing client invoices, and statements in accordance of contract requirements. </li><li>Preform revenue recognition tasks during each billing cycle</li><li>Entering and applying cash receipts accurately to projects</li><li>Reconciling overpayments, misapplied or unapplied payments</li><li>Supporting monthly accounting close activities for assigned projects</li><li>Reviewing client contracts and subconsultant agreements to understand billing terms, revenue impacts, and payment conditions</li><li>Collecting and Tracking Certificate of Insurance (COI) from subconsultants</li></ul>Accounts Receivable Tracking & Collections<ul><li>Monitoring AR aging for assigned clients and projects</li><li>Following up with clients and project managers regarding outstanding invoices</li><li>Documenting collection efforts and communicating payment status</li><li>Identifying delinquent or disputed AR items and notifying responsible parties</li><li>Providing necessary AR information needed at month’s close</li></ul>Financial Reporting<ul><li>Preparing financial reports for project managers</li><li>Tracking revenue, backlog, AR and unbilled balances</li><li>Assisting with monthly, quarterly and yearly reporting </li></ul>Requirements:<ul><li>Associates Degree in a related field plus, or at least 2-5 years of relevant experience</li><li>Advanced understanding of Microsoft Office Suite </li><li>Experience with ERP software, Deltek Vantagepoint preferred</li><li>Accuracy and strong attention to detail </li><li>Strong verbal and written communication skills</li><li>Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism</li><li>Self-starter, organized, and efficient muti-tasker</li></ul>What We Offer<ul><li>Competitive salary: $30.00-$40.00 per hour, depending on experience </li><li>Professional development and career growth opportunities </li><li>Coaching and Mentorship programs</li><li>Performance bonuses for qualified employees </li><li>Generous vacation and sick leave programs (increases with tenure)</li><li>Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance </li><li>401(k) with company match and profit sharing </li><li>Education Reimbursement</li><li>Paid Holidays</li><li>Health club subsidy</li><li>A collaborative, team-centered work environment </li><li>Employee ownership opportunities after qualified years of service</li></ul>The application window will be open through August 21, 2026.
