This role involves a combination of skills, including auto body repair, painting, and refinishing, to ensure vehicles are safe, structurally sound, and cosmetically appealing.Experience required!Key Responsibilities:<ol><li>Vehicle Inspection and Assessment:<ul><li>Inspect damaged vehicles to assess the extent of body and structural damage.</li><li>Create a detailed repair plan, including a list of required parts and materials.</li><li>Estimate the cost and time required for repairs and communicate this information to customers and insurance adjusters.</li></ul></li><li>Body Repair:<ul><li>Straighten and realign damaged vehicle frames and structures using frame straightening equipment.</li><li>Repair or replace damaged body panels, fenders, doors, and other exterior components.</li><li>Weld and fabricate metal parts as necessary.</li><li>Perform body filler work and sand surfaces to prepare them for painting.</li></ul></li><li>Painting and Refinishing:<ul><li>Mix and match paint colors to vehicle manufacturer specifications.</li><li>Apply primers, sealers, base coats, and clear coats using spray guns and other painting equipment.</li><li>Perform paint blending and feathering to achieve seamless color matching.</li><li>Ensure a smooth and glossy finish while minimizing imperfections.</li></ul></li><li>Dent Removal:<ul><li>Use various techniques, such as paintless dent repair (PDR), to remove dents and creases from vehicle surfaces.</li><li>Repair or replace damaged trim, moldings, and glass as needed.</li></ul></li><li>Quality Control:<ul><li>Inspect repaired vehicles to ensure they meet safety and quality standards.</li><li>Perform final checks for proper alignment, fit, finish, and paint quality.</li><li>Test drive vehicles to verify their roadworthiness and address any issues.</li></ul></li><li>Documentation and Reporting:<ul><li>Maintain accurate records of repair work, including labor hours, materials used, and parts replaced.</li><li>Complete repair orders and documentation for insurance claims.</li><li>Provide detailed explanations and documentation to customers regarding repair processes and costs.</li></ul></li><li>Safety and Compliance:<ul><li>Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines when working with tools, equipment, and hazardous materials.</li><li>Comply with environmental regulations for the disposal of paint, chemicals, and waste materials.</li></ul></li><li>Customer Interaction:<ul><li>Interact with customers to explain repair processes, timelines, and costs.</li><li>Address customer concerns and inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.</li><li>Provide excellent customer service to ensure customer satisfaction.</li></ul></li></ol>Qualifications:<ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a formal automotive collision repair program is preferred.</li><li>Proven experience as a Body Shop Technician or Collision Repair Technician.</li><li>Certification in auto body repair or paint application (e.g., I-CAR, ASE, or manufacturer-specific certifications) is a plus.</li><li>Proficiency in using auto body repair tools, welding equipment, and painting tools.</li><li>Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.</li><li>Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.</li><li>Knowledge of automotive systems and structures.</li><li>Physical ability to lift, carry, and maneuver heavy vehicle parts.</li><li>Valid driver's license and a clean driving record (if required).</li></ul>Body Shop Technicians are essential in restoring damaged vehicles to their original condition, ensuring safety, aesthetics, and customer satisfaction.
