Primary ResponsibilitiesAssist the Facilities Team in routine maintenance, repairs, and improvements of building spaces, utilities, equipment, vehicles, and groundsPerform routine janitorial and housekeeping tasksAssist with maintaining facility security systemsSupport movement of materials within the Kiwanis Center as neededAssist with setup and breakdown of spaces and materials for eventsSupport opening and closing procedures for building operationsTend to maintenance needs of building tenantsProvide coverage during operating hours if other staff are unavailableRelate to volunteers, staff, and community members in a friendly, professional mannerPerform other tasks as assigned by the Facilities ManagerPosition QualificationsBasic understanding of utility systems (plumbing, electrical, HVAC)Basic knowledge of commercial/residential construction applications and materials (interior and exterior wall systems, flooring, windows, doors, locks, ceilings, fixtures, landscaping, etc.)Skilled in safe use of hand and power toolsAbility to read and follow design plans and diagramsAbility to lift 50+ pounds safelyAbility to work on ladders and scaffoldingAbility to perform sustained physical tasks, standing or moving for long periodsStrong teamwork and interpersonal skills, with attention to safetyAbility to coordinate tasks independently and follow through to completionComfortable working outdoors in all weather conditionsGood verbal, written, and internet communication skillsAttention to detail and quality workmanshipStrong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgroundsExcellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and ability to consider multiple perspectivesOrganized and attentive to detailPreferred QualificationsExperience with conflict resolution techniquesExperience working in a nonprofit environmentAbility to multitask and manage multiple projects at oncePhysical Demands and Work EnvironmentMust be able to bend, stretch, reach and lift up to 50 pounds regularly, and safely work on ladders or scaffolding.
