The Co-Occurring Counselor fulfills the SBIRT Clinician function identified in Legacy's approved staffing plan and provides clinical assessment, counseling, and psychotherapeutic and/or alcohol and drug counseling services to individuals, families, and groups consistent with the employee's credential and assigned scope. Within the SBIRT assignment, completes validated substance use screening, brief assessment, Brief Intervention, Brief Treatment, Referral to Treatment, warm handoffs, care coordination, and follow-up for consumers with substance use, mental health, and co-occurring needs.
