Position will be open until filled.We are currently seeking:An airport maintenance worker to join our team. In this role, you will provide support to the daily operations at the San Angelo Regional Airport; maintain operational records and files; conduct a variety of janitorial and maintenance functions; and perform other related duties as assigned. Your responsibilities will include:<ul><li>Performing semiskilled general labor work in cleaning and maintaining buildings and grounds at San Angelo Regional Airport - Mathis Field (SJT).</li><li>Performing deep cleaning and sanitization of airport restrooms, including scrubbing toilets, urinals, and sinks; polishing mirrors and fixtures to maintain high standards of public hygiene.</li><li>Monitoring and restocking restroom supplies such as paper towels, toilet tissue, and soap dispensers to ensure uninterrupted service for travelers.</li><li>Performing professional floor care, including mopping, stripping, and waxing hard surface floors; vacuuming carpets in terminal lobbies, waiting areas, and secured boarding areas.</li><li>Emptying, cleaning, and relining interior and exterior trash and recycling receptacles throughout airport facilities and grounds.</li><li>Cleaning and disinfecting high-touch surfaces such as seating, handrails, counters, and baggage claim areas to promote a safe environment for the public.</li><li>Performing general facility maintenance and repair duties, including light carpentry; conduit and wiring work; minor maintenance on mowers, vehicles, and machinery; replacement of HVAC air filters; maintenance of exterior lighting; and general HVAC knowledge as needed.</li><li>Inspecting grounds and facilities to identify maintenance needs; reviewing repair requests; planning and prioritizing projects; and coordinating maintenance and repair work with contractors and City departments as needed.</li><li>Performing job site inspections of ongoing and completed work assignments to ensure timely completion and minimize operational disruption.</li><li>Enforcing all safety rules and regulations to reduce risk and enhance the safety of employees and visitors.</li><li>Performing maintenance and repairs in compliance with applicable federal and state regulations; working independently and exercising sound judgment.</li><li>Operating equipment in accordance with safety regulations; identifying and reporting mechanical issues requiring additional repair.</li><li>Inspecting, cleaning, and maintaining trucks and equipment; reporting mechanical problems as identified.</li><li>Completing required daily logs and reports.</li><li>Promptly reporting emergency situations and implementing response procedures.</li></ul>Hours: Sunday through Thursday, 3:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. Schedules may include weekends and holidays and are subject to change.Regular and timely attendance is required. Requirements and Skills:<ul><li style="text-align:justify;vertical-align:baseline">Identifying maintenance needs and prioritizing repair and maintenance projects.</li><li style="text-align:justify;vertical-align:baseline">Supervising staff, delegating tasks and authority, and evaluating staff performance.</li><li style="text-align:justify;vertical-align:baseline">Promoting and enforcing safe work practices.</li><li style="text-align:justify;vertical-align:baseline">Performing a wide variety of skilled and semiskilled tasks in the maintenance and repair of airport facilities.</li><li style="text-align:justify;vertical-align:baseline">Safe operation of trucks, tools and equipment according to airport operating and safety procedures. </li><li style="text-align:justify;vertical-align:baseline">Operating and maintaining tools and equipment in a safe and effective manner.</li><li style="text-align:justify;vertical-align:baseline">Closely following verbal and written instructions and procedures.</li></ul> MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education and Experience:High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Required Licenses or Certifications:<ul><li style="text-align:justify">A valid driver license with a good driving record is required. </li><li style="text-align:justify">Applicants with an out-of-state driver license must provide an original certified driving record from the state of driving licensure.</li><li style="text-align:justify">Must be able to successfully pass a 10-year Criminal History Records Check and Security Threat Assessment.</li><li style="text-align:justify">Licensing and technical certifications in the building trades are preferred and may be required.</li></ul> Physical Demands / Work Environment:<ul><li style="text-align:justify">Work is performed in an outdoor and indoor environment.</li><li style="text-align:justify">Subject to sitting for extended periods, standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting of objects up to 82 pounds. </li><li style="text-align:justify">Driving on active airport movement areas. </li><li style="text-align:justify">Exposure to potentially hostile members of the public is involved.</li></ul> Job postings may be withdrawn at any time at direction of the City Manager.
