Repair, paint, fabricate, and correct deficiencies on municipal trailers and trucks.</li><li>Parts Management: Order, pick up, and track parts needed for repairs and projects.</li><li>Fabrication: Fabricate steel components for containers, trailers, hoppers, and other equipment.</li><li>Quality Control: Inspect welds for accuracy, strength, and compliance with safety standards.</li><li>Workspace Organization: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.</li><li>Equipment Maintenance: Set up, operate, and perform routine maintenance on welding machines, cutting torches, and power tools.</li><li>Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols, including wearing protective gear (masks, gloves, shields), and adhere to OSHA and company-specific health and safety regulations.</li><li>Independence and Initiative: Take ownership of tasks, work independently, and complete assignments efficiently.</li><li>Other Duties: Perform other welding-related tasks as assigned.</li></ul>What qualifications are we looking for?<ul><li>Minimum of 2 years of welding experience in a similar environment</li><li>Hands-on experience with MIG welding, torches, plasma cutters, and fabrication machines</li><li>Experience repairing and maintaining used equipment</li><li>Aluminum welding experience is a plus</li><li>Mechanical experience is a plus</li><li>Works well under limited supervision and can take initiative</li><li>Possess your own welding tools, including a welding helmet</li><li>Valid driver's license and reliable transportation</li><li>Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices</li></ul>Physical Requirements:<ul><li>Ability to frequently kneel, bend, squat, push, pull, and reach</li><li>Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs. without assistance</li><li>Must be able to get into and out of various vehicles without assistance</li><li>Must pass a DOT physical including drug screening</li><li>Comfortable working in small or tight spaces</li></ul>We are an equal employment opportunity employer.
