This role acts as a technical leader in the field, supports large-scale commercial projects, and mentors less experienced technicians. The Senior Technician ensures all work meets safety, quality, and compliance standards while providing exceptional customer service to commercial clients. Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Diagnose, repair, and maintain complex commercial HVAC systems including RTUs, VAV systems, heat pumps, VRF/VRV systems, boilers, chillers, cooling towers, air handlers, and ventilation systems. </li><li>Lead advanced troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and major component replacements. </li><li>Perform commercial system installations, start-ups, commissioning, and retrofits according to manufacturer specifications and project requirements. </li><li>Conduct detailed preventive maintenance and provide recommendations for system improvements, energy efficiency, and lifecycle upgrades. </li><li>Ensure all work adheres to company standards, project specifications, OSHA safety regulations, and local building codes. </li><li>Provide coaching, technical guidance, and on-the-job training to junior and mid-level technicians. </li><li>Work closely with dispatch, project managers, and estimators to support scheduling, work planning, and customer communication. </li><li>Build strong client relationships and communicate findings, options, and recommendations clearly and professionally. </li><li>Complete accurate documentation of service reports, time entries, parts usage, and job progress. </li><li>Maintain company tools, equipment, and service vehicle in safe operating condition. </li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>10+ years of HVAC service and/or installation experience required. </li><li>Strong proficiency with commercial systems including chillers, boilers, VRF/VRV, and complex control systems. </li><li>EPA Universal Certification required. </li><li>Technical school, trade certification, or completed HVAC apprenticeship highly preferred. </li><li>Ability to read and interpret commercial blueprints, plans, and control schematics. </li><li>Exceptional diagnostic skills and proven ability to resolve complex system issues independently. </li><li>Strong leadership, communication, and customer-service abilities.</li></ul>Requirements:Eligibility Requirements<ul><li>This position requires a valid driver’s license.</li><li>Employment/education will be verified.</li><li>Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.</li><li>Encon is a drug free workplace and requires post-offer pre-employment drug testing.</li></ul>Physical Requirements<ul><li>Able to work in a variety of extreme weather, hot and cold conditions.</li><li>Able to work safely in confined spaces such as attics, basements, closets, and crawl spaces.</li><li>Able to work safely at elevated heights such as rooftops, ceilings, and ladders.</li><li>Able to bend, crawl, stoop, stretch, and reach.</li><li>Able to walk on uneven surfaces.</li><li>Able to work off a ladder, sometimes at heights.</li><li>Able to safely lift 50 pounds.</li></ul>Encon Heating & AC complies with applicable Federal civil rights laws and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, age, disability, or sex. CURRENT OPPORTUNITY:  Electrician Apprentice Responsible for assisting journeyman and apprentices by carrying material, picking up supplies, cleaning shop floor etc. Job Responsibilities<ul style="margin-bottom:11px"><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Gathers tools and supplies to be used at work site.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Measures, cuts, and bends wire and conduit.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Drills holes for wiring and pulls or pushes wiring through opening.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Traces out short circuits in wiring.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Assists in lifting, positioning, and fastening objects such as wiring, conduit, and motors.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Performs minor repairs such as replacing fuses, light sockets, bulbs, and switches.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Maintains tools and equipment and keeps supplies and parts in order.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Disassembles defective electrical equipment, replaces defective or worn parts, and reassembles equipment.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Cleans work area, machines, tools, and equipment.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Performs other routine duties.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px">Other duties as assigned</li></ul>Job Requirements To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
