We are looking for an experienced Lead HVAC Installer with leadership skills to lead an installation team. This is an opportunity for a qualified Installer to apply their technical skills, knowledge and experience to install, start-up and troubleshoot residential and light commercial HVAC systems from start to finish. Key Responsibilities <ul><li>Lead and supervise a team of installers/helpers on job sites, assigning tasks, providing guidance, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to company standards.</li><li>Install new or replacement HVAC systems and components, including gas & oil furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, condensers, coils, package units, boilers, mini-splits, ductwork, thermostats, zoning systems, humidifiers, IAQ products, gas lines, refrigerant lines (with soldering/brazing), sheet metal/flex duct, and related accessories.</li><li>Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and manufacturer guidelines to plan and execute installations.</li><li>Perform modifications to duct systems, fabricate duct fittings as needed, and ensure proper airflow and system performance.</li><li>Wire electrical (line and low voltage) connections for HVAC equipment.</li><li>Troubleshoot installation issues, test systems post-installation, and make adjustments to verify optimal operation.</li><li>Maintain safety protocols, comply with local building codes, EPA regulations, and company policies.</li><li>Manage job-site materials, tools, and inventory; load/unload trucks and prepare for daily jobs.</li><li>Interact professionally with customers, explain work performed, answer questions, and ensure satisfaction.</li></ul> Job Skills & Requirements: <ul><li>Experience: 3–5+ years of verifiable hands-on HVAC installation experience (residential and/or light commercial); prior lead or supervisory experience preferred. Education: High school diploma or GED required; HVAC trade school, diploma, or apprenticeship completion is preferred. Certifications:<ul><li>A2L & EPA Section 608 Certification (Universal or Type II minimum).</li><li>Valid driver's license with clean record.</li></ul></li><li>Skills:<ul><li>Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency with hand/power tools.</li><li>Knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical/gas connections, duct design, and local mechanical/electrical codes.</li><li>Ability to read blueprints and technical manuals.</li><li>Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.</li><li>Physical fitness for lifting heavy equipment, working in tight spaces/attics/crawlspaces, and climbing ladders.</li><li>Professional appearance, positive attitude, and customer service focus.</li></ul></li></ul>To learn more about Aire Serv click here. HVAC Technician: must possess and maintain a State of Michigan Mechanical Contractor license which includes a minimum of specific work classifications in 31 Limited Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Service and Unlimited Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Service as defined by the Michigan State Bureau of Construction Codes, Mechanical Division, or a minimum of five (5) years' experience in the HVAC-R (heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration) field, approved by leadership. Employee without license: must have successfully completed the apprentice program, including the Level 3 skills assessment, along with having a minimum of four (4) years' experience in the skilled trades or maintenance field with strong mechanical and electrical skills.
