You will work independently or as part of a team to ensure the safe and efficient operation of electrical systems in various settings, including commercial, industrial, and residential environments. Journeyman Electrician Essential Duties and Responsibilities:<ul><li>Installation and Maintenance: Perform electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs on a wide range of electrical systems, including lighting, power distribution, and control systems. </li><li>Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve electrical problems in a timely and efficient manner. Identify and rectify issues with wiring, circuits, fuses, and other components. </li><li>Code Compliance: Ensure all work is completed in accordance with local and national electrical codes and regulations. Keep up to date with any changes in codes or standards. </li><li>Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine the layout of electrical systems and components. </li><li>Safety: Adhere to strict safety protocols and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to lockout/tagout procedures. </li><li>Collaboration: Coordinate and communicate effectively with other team members, contractors, and project managers to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. </li><li>Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, including work orders, equipment inspections, and materials used. </li><li>Continuing Education: Stay current with advancements in electrical technology, tools, and equipment. Attend relevant training and professional development sessions as required. </li></ul>Foreman Responsibilities:<ul><li>Crew Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and direct the daily work of electricians, apprentices, and CWs on the job site. </li><li>Scheduling & Planning: Develop daily and weekly work plans, assign tasks, and adjust priorities as needed to maintain project timelines. </li><li>Quality Control: Inspect ongoing work to ensure it meets quality standards, specifications, and code requirements. </li><li>Coordination with Stakeholders: Serve as the primary on-site contact for project managers, general contractors, and other trades. </li><li>Material & Equipment Management: Monitor and coordinate delivery of materials, tools, and equipment to maintain workflow efficiency. </li><li>Problem Resolution: Address and resolve on-site issues quickly to prevent delays and maintain safety. </li><li>Safety Oversight: Enforce safety rules and conduct site safety checks; ensure all crew members are following established safety protocols. </li><li>Progress Reporting: Provide regular updates to project managers on work progress, manpower needs, and any potential delays. </li><li>Training & Development: Assist in the training and skill development of apprentices and less-experienced electricians. </li></ul><h5>Qualifications </h5><ul><li>Valid journeyman electrician license with the State of Wisconsin or willingness to obtain </li><li>Completion of a recognized electrical apprenticeship program or union training program. <ul><li>Or 12,000 hours worked in Electrical field </li><li>Or 8,000 hours worked and 500 - 1000 classroom hours completed </li></ul></li><li>Strong knowledge of local and national electrical codes and regulations. </li><li>Proficiency in using electrical hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment. </li><li>Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. </li><li>Ability to work independently and in a team environment. </li><li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills. </li><li>Strong Technical Aptitude </li><li>Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. </li></ul><h5>Additional Information </h5>Physical Demands:<ul><li>Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, sometimes in excess 50 pounds. </li><li>Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces. </li><li>Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity. </li><li>Must be able to accurately identify color-coded cables and wires, in variable lighting conditions. </li></ul>Working Environment:<ul><li>Construction Job Site environment </li><li>Working in weather elements (May include heat, cold, rain, snow etc.) </li></ul>Note:This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee(s) incumbent in this position.
