<img alt="" height="38" src="https://assets.jazz.co/customers/customer_20240119162318_ELPBU0OLYW9KWVKH/layout/20240319180322-Janotta%20&%20Herner%20logo%20simple.png" width="200"/> Job Title: Construction CAD Designer/Drafter Company: Janotta & Herner Reports to: Director of Design FLSA: Hourly Position Summary: Construction CAD Designer/Drafter will collaborate with J&H Project Managers, Engineers, Consultants, Superintendents and Clients as assigned by the Design Department Director. Will be responsible to plan, coordinate and create complete construction drawings for assigned projects. Essential Functions: <ol><li style="margin-left:8px">Meet with the project team to develop & fully understand the design requirements of the project.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Analyze and identify project risks.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Gather and assemble the necessary measurements, dimensions or other information required to complete the drawings.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Provide the team with practical design recommendations based on the project requirements, budget, site and recent trends.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Proficiently use CAD and/or Revit to produce construction grade drawing sets.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Prepare preliminary design drawings for work acquisition and bidding.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Prepare drawings, specifications, and construction documents.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px;margin-left:8px">Other duties as assigned.</li></ol>Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: <ul><li style="margin-left:8px">Associate’s degree or certification program in architectural drafting, or similar.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">5-10 years of experience is preferred.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Proficient in computer-aided design (CAD) software.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">General knowledge of building design, specifications, codes, and structural analysis.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Ability to apply the fundamentals of sketching and design.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Mathematical aptitude and attention to detail.</li><li style="margin-left:8px">Strong organizational and time management abilities.</li><li style="margin-bottom:11px;margin-left:8px">Great analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.</li></ul>Working Conditions: This role involves working in an office environment generally during the hours of 7:00am-4:30pm. Additional overtime may be required to meet project goals or deadlines.
