Under the supervision of the Creative Director and in collaboration with the Jekyll Island Authority (JIA) marketing department, the Graphic Designer is responsible for producing high-quality, consistent branding to support Jekyll Island and its amenities. Primarily will work indoors; however, they may be required to perform work both inside and outside-exposure to extreme heat, high humidity, occasionally adverse weather conditions, and occasional extreme cold.

The ideal candidate will have strong organizational and time-management skills and demonstrate a proven record of effective visual communication. Must be self-motivated and have the ability to interact with vendors and all levels of internal staff with high professionalism.Duties/Responsibilities:<ul><li>Consistently apply and enforce brand standards to ensure that Jekyll Island and its amenities are well-represented in all communications.</li><li>Design print, digital and out-of-home communications.</li><li>Update and refine existing marketing collateral for internal and external use, including individual JIA amenities and departments.</li><li>Assist with the ongoing creation of social and digital media assets.</li><li>Effectively evaluating and managing external vendor relationships, including proofreaders, printers, and media agencies.</li><li>Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to achieve creative goals.</li><li>Contribute to experiential marketing executions, like exhibits and events.</li><li>Support island-wide wayfinding and signage needs.</li><li>Must be able to follow directions and handle corrections quickly and efficiently.</li><li>Organize and manage ongoing document/photography libraries and archives.</li><li>Maintain working files in a well-organized fashion.</li><li>Other duties as assigned.</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>Associate's degree from an accredited institution in graphic design, advertising, or related field with a minimum of two (2) years of related experience is required. Agency experience preferred. OR</li><li>High school diploma or recognized equivalent with a minimum of five (5) years of related experience.</li><li>Portfolio demonstrating technical production skills and a keen eye for design.</li><li>Knowledge of design principles, including layout, typography, color, balance, composition, and current design trends.</li><li>Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud and Microsoft Office.</li><li>Strong understanding of print production and file set-up.</li><li>Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously.</li><li>Meticulous attention to detail and ability to catch all mistakes while preparing files.</li><li>Basic knowledge of HTML is a plus.</li><li>Exceptional collaboration and interpersonal skills.</li></ul>Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:<ul><li>Exert up to 35 pounds of force occasionally and a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.</li><li>More than 50% of the typical workday will be spent sitting; however, certain periods will require more than 50% of the day spent walking and standing.</li><li>Less than 25% of the day is generally spent stooping; bending the body downward and forward at the waist, and crouching; bending the body downward and forward by bending the leg and spine.
