The major emphasis for instructors is on teaching and evaluating students in the course. Classes are taught in a variety of formats and at several different locations, as well as online. Instructors also communicate with students between classes and are responsible for several administrative duties such as reporting on academic activity and submitting final grades.Applicants should indicate in their cover letter whether they are interested and available for on-ground, online, or both teaching formats.Duties and Responsibilities:1. Planning and teaching classes as assigned and as outlined in the course descriptions and course syllabi and departmental guidelines.2. Beginning and ending all classes as scheduled and covering all relevant learning outcomes for each course.3. Maintaining academic standards and classroom behavior to ensure an environment conducive to learning, communicating with students weekly, and answering student emails in a timely manner. 4. Evaluating students using a variety of methods and informing each student of scores received on each assessment in a timely manner.5. Using Cleveland State email for administrative purposes and responding to student questions via Cleveland State email in a timely manner. 6. Meeting deadlines for all administrative requests such as submitting personnel paperwork, acknowledging contracts, academic activity and assessment reports, and final grades. 7. Three years teaching experience is preferred.  Experience with alternative delivery instructional modes recommended – hybrid, online, interactive, etc. Availability/Closing Date: This posting is not a guarantee of an open position. Applications for adjunct faculty positions are accepted on a continuous basis and reviewed by the department when openings become available. Future teaching assignments are on a term-by-term basis, which may include fall, spring and summer. Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:<ul><li>Complete activity assessment through patient observation and patient/family interview, obtaining information on the patient’s needs, skills, interests and limitations for the development and implementation of the treatment plan.</li><li>Plan, organize, direct and implement the activities within the treatment program to facility patient progress with treatment goals.</li><li>Plan and implement an activities program including but not limited to therapeutic leisure skills and activities, leisure education and leisure awareness.</li><li>Facilitate and lead activity sessions to improve patient mental and physical well-being.</li><li>Instruct patients in activities and techniques, such are sports, dance, music, art or relaxation techniques designed to meet their specific needs.</li><li>Develop treatment plans and implement activity interventions that meet patient needs and interests and helps the patient achieve his/her treatment goals.</li><li>Engage patients in therapeutic activities, such as exercise, games and community outings.</li><li>Help patients learn social skills needed to become or remain independent.</li><li>Modify activities to suit the needs of specific groups.</li><li>Demonstrate a positive, empathetic and professional attitude towards customers always.  When patient needs are not met, acknowledge and work to resolve complaints.  Recognize that patient safety is a top priority.</li></ul>OTHER FUNCTIONS: <ul><li>Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.</li></ul>
