Benchmark School is seeking a local artist to join the Art Department to work with middle school students for approximately 3 months. Our goal is to expose our middle school students to a working artist who will share their skill and expertise to create art with the students.

Our goal is to expose our middle school students to a working artist who will share their skill and expertise to create art with the students. Responsibilities<ul><li>Plan middle school appropriate lessons that will scaffold the artistic process for students to have individual or collaborative work that is complete at the end of the residency.</li><li>Collaborate with the current Art Teacher to support students' needs and abilities.</li><li>Teach students about your making process, artistic habits, and skills.</li><li>Create your own artwork or installation that can be displayed at the school.</li></ul> Qualifications<ul><li>Degree in fine arts.</li><li>Experience in teaching your current art making process.</li><li>Understanding of how to teach neurodivergent middle school students.</li></ul> Accommodations<ul><li>Studio space available.</li><li>Stipend available.</li><li>We will cover the cost of supplies for an agreed upon amount to be determined by the school and the artist before the project begins.</li></ul> Application & Writing ResponsePlease apply via the link below, and provide the following: <ul><li>A current resume </li><li>Three professional references including names, telephone numbers, and email addresses </li><li>In addition to a standard cover letter, please respond to the following questions in no more than 500 words. Key parts of your day to day will consist of: Working with our Guests to knowledgeably recommend meal options and fulfill their orders from start to finish . Working with your teammates to keep all areas of the restaurant clean while maintaining a pleasant atmosphere for our Guests .

Physical: Ability to work any area of the restaurant as needed and to operate computerized Point of Sale system/cash register. This position requires bending, standing and walking the entire workday.
