ANR competes for national research funding and extension awards in order to deliver statewide programs with local roots and global reach, partners broadly with commodity groups, UC and CSU campuses, and state and federal agencies to serve local communities across the entire state of California, and educates young underserved Californians through local youth development programs. Responsible for a fund portfolio similar to campus, including system-wide assessment funds (SAF), federal capacity funds, endowments, patent revenue, sales and service, recharge, crop income, contracts and grants, indirect cost recovery, gifts, short term investment pool, total return investment pool, conference fees, and other program income.
