JOB SUMMARY: Softball Coach <ul><li>Knowledge of the fundamentals, rules, and strategies of softball.</li><li>Ability to teach age-appropriate softball skills, including throwing, catching, hitting, bunting, base running, fielding, pitching, and defensive positioning.</li><li>Experience coaching, playing, or assisting with softball at the youth, middle school, high school, or comparable level preferred.</li><li>Strong understanding of middle school student development and the ability to work effectively with young adolescents.</li><li>Commitment to developing student-athletes both on and off the field, including character, discipline, responsibility, sportsmanship, and academic accountability.</li><li>Ability to create a positive team culture that promotes effort, respect, teamwork, confidence, and school pride.</li><li>Strong communication skills with students, parents, school administration, and athletic staff.</li><li>Ability to organize and conduct effective practices that focus on skill development, team concepts, conditioning, safety, and player growth.</li><li>Willingness to follow all school, district, TMSAA/TSSAA, and athletic department rules, policies, and expectations.</li><li>Ability to supervise student-athletes before, during, and after practices, games, travel, and team activities.</li><li>Commitment to maintaining a safe, structured, and respectful environment for all student-athletes.</li><li>Ability to model professionalism, integrity, emotional control, and good sportsmanship at all times.</li><li>Willingness to collaborate with school administration, athletic directors, and other coaches to support the overall athletic program.</li><li>Ability to manage team responsibilities such as equipment, uniforms, schedules, communication, field preparation, and game-day organization.</li><li>Must meet all district requirements for coaching, including background checks, required trainings, certifications, and any other employment or volunteer requirements.</li></ul> QUALIFICATIONS: This position is a softball coach with no teaching position.
