MEDICAL ASSISTANTMedical Assistants (MA) will partner with the providers of Southern Indiana ENT to ensure prompt, accurate, and compassionate patient care. Southern Indiana ENT is seeking experienced MA candidates interested in growing their skills in this unique and comprehensive ENT care setting. This role is full-time, 8am-5pm, Monday through Friday at Columbus with some travel to Greenwood and Franklin as needed.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES of a Medical Assistant<ul><li>The Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting Physicians with the evaluation, management, charting, and treatment of patients in an ambulatory care setting.</li></ul><ul><li>The Medical Assistant assumes responsibility for maintaining patient flow and performing basic skills such as vital signs, chief complaints, reviews medications, and point of care testing.</li></ul><ul><li>The Medical Assistant will maintain upkeep of exam and treatment rooms- restocking supplies, washing, drying and sterilizing instruments.</li></ul><ul><li>The Medical Assistant will maintain their Provider's Athena Inboxes</li></ul><ul><li>Other duties as assigned.</li></ul><ul><li>The Medical Assistant must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift up-to 30 pounds.</li></ul>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS of a Medical Assistant<ul><li>High School diploma or GED equivalent</li></ul><ul><li>Current CPR Certification required </li><li>At least one year of experience as a Medical Assistant required.</li></ul><ul><li>Experience with Athena preferred</li></ul><ul><li>Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program preferred</li></ul><ul><li>Minimum of two years clinical experience preferred</li></ul>SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITYThis position has no supervisory responsibility.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS for a Medical AssistantPreferred: Current Medical Assistant Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA, or NCCT or a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant.All employees are required to provide proof of vaccination or exemption.WAGE:$18-$20 per hour based on experience.ENT is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Current certification from the Certifying Board of the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), or registration from the American Medical Technologists (AMT), or the National Center for Competency Training (NCCT), or any recognized certifying body approved by the Board.</li><li>CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant), RMA (Registered Medical Assistant).</li><li>Two (2) years’ experience or knowledge in the field of behavioral health recommended.</li><li>Experience performing blood draws</li><li>CPR (Cardiopulmonary resuscitation) Certification</li></ul>Responsibilities:<ul><li>Works as part of the intake team to ensure patients are seen promptly.</li><li>Observe urine samples for urine drug screens, test onsite and package for laboratory confirmation testing.</li><li>Obtain vital signs and report findings to nurses when needed.</li><li>Obtain blood samples for standard blood testing onsite and package for the laboratory</li><li>Communicate all relevant information to the leadership team regarding patients and the facility.</li><li>Make appointments for patients to see physicians, counselors, and case managers, and provide lab work and referrals for additional follow-up care.</li><li>May be responsible for cash collection and daily balancing.</li><li>May be responsible for managing accounts receivable/accounts payable/ deposits.</li><li>Maintain security by following procedures, monitoring logbooks, checking in visitors, etc.</li><li>May be responsible for coordinating appointments for patients.</li><li>May be responsible for running the PDMP for all patients as well as recording patient information at intake in the Central Registry for that State</li><li>Maintain and keep updated all medical records and documentation pertaining to the patients in the EHR as well as in any lab required software programs</li><li>May be responsible for dropping off lab work at a UPS drop off location if the driver does not come in to pick up that day</li><li>May be responsible for dropping deposits off at the local bank. Assists with Purchasing and ordering of medical supplies</li><li>Assists in education with pregnant patients about prenatal care and assists primary counselor in coordinating outside services as needed.</li><li>Attend team meetings and complete all training courses timely as required.</li><li>Other duties as assigned.</li></ul>Join our team. Graduation from a formal Medical Assistant program or other related program
National or state-specific MA certification or registration is strongly preferred. MA certification or registration is required for employment in States where certification/registration is required
CPR/BLS certification required at time of start date
Phlebotomy experience is preferred
