JOB DESCRIPTION The Biomedical Technician II responds to service calls to evaluate, diagnose, perform repair/planned maintenance on progressively complex customer's biomedical equipment, and drives customer satisfaction through service excellence. The position responds to escalated issues from Biomedical Technician I team members. RESPONSIBILITIES <ul><li>Evaluates complex, customer biomedical equipment issues and implements appropriate repairs.</li><li>Supports escalated issues from the Biomedical Technician I.</li><li>Performs planned maintenance, safety and environmental inspections, and maintains effective customer relations.</li><li>Follows and guides others as needed regarding appropriate policies, procedures, hospital protocol, and completes necessary documentation.</li><li>Establishes and engages in proactive daily communications with customers, to ensure resolution and proper follow up, leading to customer satisfaction.</li><li>Leads, instructs, and assists technicians on basic and complex repairs and resolution.</li><li>Documents all repair actions and submit reports/summaries according to schedule.</li><li>Ensures proper care of spares, tools and test equipment, and ensures calibration.</li><li>Maintains approved parts inventory.</li><li>Enhances and maintains technical knowledge of current standards, codes, and procedures regarding safe and effective use of medical equipment through formal instruction.</li><li>Meets Health and Human Services, Environment Health and Safety requirements, and/or all other applicable regulatory requirements.</li><li>Required to work a flexible schedule at varying times throughout the year to perform planned maintenance or repair work during non-clinical use hours.</li><li>Maintains a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.</li></ul> QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Education <ul><li>Associates Degree Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Related field, Biomedical Engineering Required or</li><li>Three years of related experience maybe considered in lieu of degree Required</li></ul> Minimum Work Experience <ul><li>2 years Experience in the repair and maintenance of biomedical equipment Required</li></ul> ABOUT US Baptist Health Care is a not-for-profit health care system committed to improving the quality of life for people and communities in northwest Florida and south Alabama.
