Job Summary: US Coatings is currently seeking a Marine CoatingsBlaster/Painter Helper. This position must effectively and safely assist the Sandblaster/Painter, Foreman or Supervisor in surface preparation, coatings application and all associated phases of marine coatings.Duties and Responsibilities: <ul><li style="text-align:justify;line-height:normal;vertical-align:baseline">As directed by the Sandblaster/Painter, Foreman or Supervisor assists in preparing surfaces and applying coatings to various structures, tanks, piping, and miscellaneous surfaces in accordance with customers specifications and manufacturers recommendations.</li><li style="text-align:justify;line-height:normal;vertical-align:baseline">Assists in assembling, maintenance, repair and cleaning abrasive blasting and painting equipment.</li><li style="text-align:justify;line-height:normal;vertical-align:baseline">May assist in mixing and thinning the coatings according to manufacturer's recommendations.</li><li style="text-align:justify;line-height:normal;vertical-align:baseline">Assist in constructing protective enclosures to avoid overspray of customers equipment.</li><li style="text-align:justify;line-height:normal;vertical-align:baseline">Cooperating with Supervisors and companion workers in carrying out assigned work.</li><li style="text-align:justify;line-height:normal;vertical-align:baseline">Assist in loading, unloading and storage of equipment and supplies.</li><li style="text-align:justify;line-height:normal;vertical-align:baseline">At all times perform work in the safest possible manner. Blaster/PainterGeneral RequirementsThe Blaster/Painter is required to have a minimum of 5+ years of experience in a marine facility or shipyard environment.  Required to have a valid TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Credential), valid drivers license, and First Aid & CPR.The Blaster/Painter will perform blasting and painting utilizing marine coatings to specified contract requirements. Will be responsible for seeing that multiple surfaces have been prepared for the application of high performance coatings. Will oversee the proper use of solvents, acids, detergents, and power and hand tools.Responsible for having knowledge of various blast methods and equipment to oversee the painting and coating of vessels, tanks, and equipment. Will have knowledge and ability to direct the blasting of abrasive-laden compressed air or water against metal or hard-composition objects to remove adhering scale, sand, paint, grease, tar, rust and dirt to impart even finish. Must also be knowledgeable and have experience in marine hydro blasting.Required to oversee the use, care, and maintenance of the blasting equipment. Work includes abrasive blasting and pressure/water blasting methods, protection/containment, and rigorous adherence to shipyard safety and environmental controls.Duties and Responsibilities: <ul><li style="text-align:justify;line-height:normal;vertical-align:baseline">Perform abrasive blasting and/or water blasting (including high-pressure pressure washing and UHP/hydro blasting as assigned) to remove coatings, corrosion, scale, and contaminants per job specifications.</li><li style="text-align:justify;line-height:normal;vertical-align:baseline">Prepare surfaces to required degrees of cleanliness and profile consistent with recognized surface preparation standards (e.g., SSPC surface prep standards as applicable to the work package).</li><li style="text-align:justify;line-height:normal;vertical-align:baseline">Select and control appropriate blast media and operating parameters (pressure, nozzle configuration, abrasive flow) to meet specification while minimizing rework and waste.</li><li style="text-align:justify;line-height:normal;vertical-align:baseline">Set up, operate, and troubleshoot blasting equipment (blast pots/units, hoses, nozzles, compressors) and associated preservation tools with minimal supervision.</li><li style="text-align:justify;line-height:normal;vertical-align:baseline">Install and remove masking, shielding, and blast protection to safeguard sensitive ship systems, machinery, and adjacent surfaces; maintain protection integrity during the job.</li><li style="text-align:justify;line-height:normal;vertical-align:baseline">Build/maintain containments and environmental controls (as required), including ventilation and dust-collection/exhaust systems to manage airborne dust and capture contaminants.</li><li style="text-align:justify;line-height:normal;vertical-align:baseline">Work safely and effectively in confined spaces (e.g., tanks/voids), including crawling/climbing through access openings, maintaining situational awareness around other workers, and following entry requirements and permits as directed.</li><li style="text-align:justify;line-height:normal;vertical-align:baseline">Execute daily equipment and PPE checks;
